Aaron Walsh is a partner at McCracken Kuhn Marks PLLC. An experienced divorce and family lawyer and a Rule 31 mediator, Aaron has been practicing law since 2003 and focuses on divorce, child custody, and related family law matters. He is committed to helping clients resolve their cases efficiently and thoughtfully, which most often means reaching an informed and fair settlement. When a fair settlement is not possible, Aaron draws on years of courtroom experience to advocate for his clients’ interests in litigation. He is admitted to practice in Tennessee and South Carolina (inactive).
Aaron grew up in Nashville, attending Eakin Elementary School and Hillsboro High School. His own life gives him a personal understanding of what his clients are going through: he has been a stepchild and a stepfather, has been through a divorce himself, and has children of his own. After graduating from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1997, Aaron worked in Nashville and at the Port of Charleston, South Carolina, for a division of Maersk, at the time the world’s largest international intermodal shipping company. A few years later, he returned to school and earned his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2003. While in law school, Aaron was named to the Dean’s List, clerked for a local law firm, and was selected for the student editorial board of the ABA’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Journal.
After graduation, Aaron stayed on as an associate attorney at the firm where he had clerked, assisting with large and complex litigation ranging from mass torts to wrongful death and handling a wide variety of other cases. (Ask him sometime about starving-horse seizures in rural South Carolina.) Eager to take on more personal responsibility, Aaron then joined the Public Defender’s Office in Aiken County, South Carolina, where he spent several years appearing in court almost every day and handled a substantial caseload of adult and juvenile matters, from misdemeanors to serious felonies to hunting turkey over grain.
As an Assistant Public Defender in juvenile court, Aaron represented children as well as parents navigating difficult family circumstances, and that work set him on the path to family law. In 2007, he opened his own practice, WalshLaw, with family and domestic law as its primary focus. By 2010, his practice was almost exclusively divorce and custody matters.
In 2015, Aaron and his family moved home to Nashville, where WalshLaw continued to handle divorce, custody, and related matters at the trial and appellate levels, resolving most cases through settlement while continuing to advocate for clients in the courtroom when needed. In 2026, Aaron joined McCracken Kuhn Marks PLLC, bringing more than two decades of experience to the firm’s compassionate, client-centered approach to family law.
Like so many Nashvillians, Aaron grew up around the music industry, and he and his wife, Christine, regularly attend live music events. Their teenage daughter is already a devoted concertgoer who is planning a Lollapalooza trip for when she is old enough. The Walshes also enjoy camping, boating, evenings around the backyard fire pit, and cheering on their kids at their sporting events.
